One-on-One Coaching Sessions

We should be thriving in all aspects of our lives! Being “healthy” isn’t just about what you eat and how much you exercise. By focusing solely on those two things, so many others aspects of our lives get overlooked, like how we feel about our jobs, how much sleep we get or how much water we drink a day. I think this oversight is one of the reasons why so many people feel dissatisfied in more than one area of their life. Too much falls by the wayside. And when you add that onto the stresses of normal daily life, it becomes way too easy to fall into a rut that you can’t seem to find your way out of. So what to do?

Wellness consulting is unique in the sense that “wellness” considers the state of the mind, body and spirit when it comes to being “healthy”. The three are inextricably linked, and so an issue in one of those three areas will inevitably affect the other two. So, for example, if weight loss is a client’s concern, not only will diet and exercise be addressed, but any existing emotional or personal issues will be addressed as well. Why? Because those factors play a role in our physical weight! Therefore, the healing needs to happen on a much deeper level than simply adjusting the client’s diet and exercise regiment. Ultimately, the goal of wellness consulting is to help clients repair and realign the mind, body and spirit connection. So what does a consulting session with me look like?

Our first session together will be focused on discussing what issue(s) you’re having difficulty with. This can be a physical issue (weight/diet), financial issue (money/career), personal issue (emotional/psychological) or a relationship issue (romantic/platonic). A in-depth history form will be completed to help me get a clear and well-rounded idea of who you are personally as well as medically. You will also complete a chart, rating your satisfaction in the following five areas: physical, financial, personal, relational and spiritual. The chart along with the history form combined serves as the foundation we will be starting with. Finally, along with the issue(s) you want to work on, we will work together to come up with a list of achievable short-term and long-term goals that you would like to meet along with actionable steps you can take to meet those goals.

The nature of goals you would like to meet will determine the amount of time in which we will work together. Having said that, I recommend working with me for a minimum of 1 session a week for eight weeks. Each follow-up session will always start with a check-in to see how you are feeling. From there we discuss any successes/struggles and any adjustments we think you should make.

I think it is important to note that you ultimately will call the shots when it comes to our time together. I am here to suggest, encourage and help steer you in the direction you want to go on. But this is your time. It’s your show. At the end of the day, I believe we all know what the right decisions for ourself are. Sometimes we just need someone to help us figure out the execution.
